DNO company must stop Mining Work in Northern Somalia
Published without a byline

It is unfortunate and illegal to carry out unauthorized mining work in volatile region of Somalia without permission of central government and local people . Such illegal activities will result armed conflict and displacement of rural inhabitants of that affected areas. UN monitoring group on Somalia has repeatedly warned unregulated mining and oil exploration will result armed conflict in Somalia and must be avoided by the international companies and governments.
In contrast Norwegian registered company DNO has repeatedly broke UN regulation and brought logistical equipment with mercenaries forces from Somaliland self-declared region to near God,aalo Village in Sool region. This created clash between Local Khatumo administration supporters and DNO owned helicopters on 13th December 2015. Somali federal government should speak out against this illicit business and take its legal and diplomatic position as government.
UNSOM Somalia office also seems not concerned about this ongoing conflict and being busy only beyond 2016 fragmentation of Somalia. They have also moral authority to intervene.
We urge good citizens of Somalia to use their voice to stop western companiea looting our natural resources while we are idle and doing nothing to stop it.
