Mohamoud Sheikh Omar, a leading spokesperson of Khatumo Administration in Buhodle has spoken to media today about the state of Khatumo State; from the region’s current hot geographical climate tempratures to economic and  political updates including the much anticipated upcoming Khatumo 3 Elections slated to take place in Taleh City late October.

Mohamoud reiterated that the general Health and Social conditions are fairly ok, giving a thumps up to the Khatumo State of the Union as stable and progressing slowly towards economic growth, rapid developments in education and and enlightened Socio-political awareness of the residents of Sool Sanaag and Cayn regions of North East Somalia. “I am confident that the upcoming Taleh Conference will be Historic” stated Mohamoud. “I encourage all Khatumo Diaspora and local folks to participate in this democratic exercise to elect a president and a Parliamentary system” added Mohamoud.

Additionally, Mohamoud highlighted the need for all Khatumo folks to be vigilant about neighbouring administrations such as Somaliland and Puntland. “They continuously try to manipulate certain traditional elders or individuals who hail from our regtion into falsely representing what is dubbed as political elections in their regions”. The fact remains that on Jan. 13, 2012, at the famous Fig tree in Taleh, the people of Sool Sanaag and Cayn (SSC) have already spoken and declared Khatumo Administration as their sovereign right and sole legitimate representative.

As far as the Somali Federal politicking goes, Mohamoud showed a big concern about the current president Hassan Sheik who seems to belittle and ignore the aspirations and wishes of a whole ethnic community and region in North east Somalia. For example, “he willfully ignored to invite Khatumo administration to the EU donors meeting in Belgium while bringing along even smaller governors of small regions in Somalia; a colossal act of dereliction of duty from a president of his stature” said Mohamoud. However, the people of Khatumo will pereservere  and will win as long as they are on the side of true Somali Unionists. Concluded the spokesperson.
