Head of Security for Khatumo III Conference arrives in Taleh City

As part of on-going preparations for the much anticipated Conference in Taleh city, the people of Sool Sanaag and Cayn regions otherwise known as Khatumo State have received the Head of Security for the Khatumo 3 Conference at the Sayid M. Abdulle Hassan Airport. Abdirashid Ismail Muse has arrived in Taleh City yesterday with a lot of enthusiasm and reception as hundreds of people lined up the streets of Taleh City just to greet him.

“I am back to keep the peace once again in Khatumo III” declared Abdirashid. “It is quite inspiring to see so many people with a lot of energy and passion for their new found regional democracy. Taleh City is where the Dervish Somalis have fought off the colonials, and we are very lucky to have our Millatery men and women to keep law and order for all us and with your help, i am confident that we can repeat the same peaceful conference again” added Mr. Muse.

In the past year, Abdirashid has successfully coordinated the safety and security of the Grand SSC Congress _ Khatumo 2_ that took place in the city of Taleh in Dec. 2012 – Jan.13 2013. This Historic gathering was attended by more than 6000 participants including former SSC leadership, Khatumo 2 delegations, civil society, Traditional leaders, members of the Diaspora, Women, and Youth groups of Sool Sanaag and Cayn Regions. This grass-roots and democratic exercise gave birth to the Khatumo State Administration that elected an Executive Council, a Traditional Council and a Presidential Council with a mandate to run the affairs of SSC region for next tricycle of 6 months each.

Eighteen months later, The people of Khatumo are now ready to form a permanent local administration with a Unitary President, an elected body of Provincial Parliamentarians, a finalized Constitution and a more efficient Judicial and Financial Management systems. Khatumo III Conference is expected to officially open on Oct. 22, 2013.
