Khatumo Torontonians Celebrates 2nd. Anniversary of Khatumo State of Somalia

Press Release: Second Anniversary of Khatumo State of Somalia. January 12, 2014 marks the second anniversary of the creation of Khatumo State of Somalia. Is Khatumo State’s two years of existence and the freedom of the SSC people truly a cause for celebration? This question shall be debated by the real sons and daughters of Khatumo State of Somalia and not the enemies and the traitors, as we reflect on the two years journey we have travelled together.

In January 2012, delegates from across all parts of the SSC regions met at the convention in Taleh and have overwhelmingly supported the establishment of Khatumo State of Somalia. After two years of its establishment and fighting relentless wars from many fronts Khatumo State of Somalia finally enjoys its place in the history of Somalia’s modern political and social spectrum.

The Khatumo State of Somalia has made significant progress on the political front. For example, Khatumo State signifies the freedom and self-determination as a fundamental right for the SSC people. It is the symbol of dignity and the right of the SSC people to decide for themselves. It is recognized as the symbol of peace, unity and social justice and the world admires at our transition within a short period from a colonized region to an independent rightful state.

Apart from the neighboring administrations who are outright enemies of our young state, there are so many forces from within who are persistently attempting to derail its progress and wants to see Khatumo fail. However, the aims of those who want to bring Khatumo to its knees will always be doomed to fail. Once all SSC people get the taste of freedom, Khatumo State shall obtain an unstoppable momentum and shall overcome difficulties and transcend all barriers.

Soon, the SSC people will hold its Khatumo III conference in Taleh which the citizens enjoy freedom to choose the manner in which the state is governed through elections and other forms of public participation. The SSC people will not be dictated to do whatever the two neighboring enemies wanted. This Conference shall also lay a firm foundation for our government based on the will of the people, and we continue to improve on it.

All of these achievements and milestones are testimony that we have a lot to be grateful for as we approached the third year of the Freedom of the SSC regions. By celebrating our successes, no one is saying there are no remaining challenges ahead. Instead, we acknowledge that we still have a long way to go and the difficulties ahead are of similar magnitude to the successes. But we are committed in our determination to ensure freedom and better life for all SSC people.
