The Barbaric Invasion of peaceful Saahdheer by the Isaq Militia.

Early Thursday morning of August 28, 1014, the Isaq Militi marched into peaceful Saahdheer town where the delegates of the inauguration ceremony for Khatumo State’s new president were preparing themselves for the festivities and celebrations of the day. The Isaq Militia were utilizing heavy artillery mounted on mechanized vehicles have proceeded to brutally murder innocent civilians of women and children. This was the worst atrocities since the Taleeh massacre by Puntland militia on the 28th of November 2013.

The incredible carnage included burnings of homes, murdering innocent women and children, thefts, and massive property destruction which continued unabated for hours until the Khatumo police force entered the battle to stop the enemies’ incursion. Within short time, the carnage and the damage inflicted on the enemy was extensive and devastating. Despite the massive firepower of the invading militia, the police force of Khatumo State put up stiff resistance, silenced the rumbles of the Isaq artillery shells and drove them out of Saahdheer town.

As the enemy militia forces were retreating, they fired their rifles into civilian areas, killing indiscriminately. Other Isaq militia killed shopkeepers, looted their stores, then set the buildings on fire. This horrible reality of this brutal and unconventional attack perpetrated by the Isaq clan was supported the notorious Alqaida affiliated group- Alshabab- who were engaged in relentless killing of children and women.

From all accounts, however, their intentions to disrupt, undermine and derail the peaceful inauguration ceremony of the new president of Khatumo State have failed. The people of Saahdheer have unshakably and successfully launched a historic inauguration ceremony after the oath of office by honorable Dr. Ali Khalif Galaydh as the new president of Khatumo State of Somalia. In their speeches, the attended delegates inspired the Khatumo people for their heroic struggle for self-determination, human dignity. They also condemned the barbaric war of invasion and the Isaq clan hostility towards the peaceful people of Khatumo State of Somalia

In his inauguration speech, the president of Khatumo State defined the political will of his government to liberate the SSC regions of Khatumo State from the yoke of Isaq clan tyranny. In all instances, he encouraged the SSC people of Khatumo State to unite their ranks to liberate the SSC regions from the colonial domination and oppression of the Isaq clan. The president reiterated his commitment to peace building in the region if the stakeholders (the neighboring regional administrations) are willing to join this initiative.

Other highlights in his key note speech to the people of Khatumo State and to the distinguished delegates in attendance at the inauguration ceremony confirmed his commitment to rebuild Khatumo State economically and politically. He promised to implement new strategies in the social services such as health and education as well as the civil service to move Khatumo State forward. 

He heroically and determinedly disapproved and vehemently rejected the Isaq clan intentions to force the Khatumo people to accept their secessionist policies and declared that Khatumo State of Somalia will remain part and parcel of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Finally, he called on the International community to take a quick action to stop the continued war of aggression of the secessionist Isaq clan and to end their brutal massacres on the innocent civilians of Khatumo State.
