Watch Somali President Shiikh Shariif as he Welcomes Khaatumo State to the TFG

In his address to the Somali community of Bristol City in UK, the President of Somalia Shiikh Shariif Shiikh Ahmed announced that Khaatumo State has fulfilled the conditions necessary to become a legitimate Provincial State. “Whenever there is two or more provinces joining hands through local grassroots consultation and agreement to form self-government, then they do satisfy the criterion upon which the TFG approves such a state” added the president.

A little over a month ago, The people of  Sool Sanaag and Cayn have gathered in the Historical city of Taleh where more than 67 Tradional Cuqals and 12 Isims were joined by 367 delegates representing all the regions of SSC. There were also a healthy sample of delegates from the diaspora attending this Conference. Large numbers of un invited community members were in attendane under the famous Fig tree in Taleh as they convened this Historic SSC Congress. After numerous committee meetings and deliberations by more than 4000 participants from all walks of society including women, youth groups, traditional elders, they have reached a unanimous decision to exercise their god given right for self governance and thus on the faithful day of January 12, 2012 Khaatumo State of Somalia was given birth.
